Day 1: Arrival at Malolo Airport (the only Airport in Maewo in the North part of the Island). Straight to Naone Waterfall. Custom Dances and cultural activities. Visit the local Water Taro Garden tour. Soft or light refreshments in the Naone community. Local entertainment, and souvenirs on site. Check-In at Susale Guesthouse in Gambule.
Day 2: Check Out: Transport pickup around 0800hrs to Hanare Cultural Village. A full day of traditional activities, traditional cooking systems, Custom dances, river prawns harvesting, traditional water taro gardening and the stories behind it, entertainment, histories of Maewo Island chiefly systems and kava preparation and tasting. Showcasing Maewo Islands’ unique culture and natural attractions. Guests are advised to dress for wet. Waterfalls and swimming are also on tour. Check in at Kerepei Guesthouse.
Day 3: Check Out from the guesthouse. Boat Transport to Lolowai, East Ambae. Boat ride around 45 minutes to Ambae. The vehicle picks up in Lolowai to Ambanga Village. Check-In to Manaro Gateway Guesthouse in North Ambae. Visit Ambanga communities and attractions. Learn about Ambaen’s histories and local stories relating to Manaro and the people of Ambae Island.
Day 4: Check Out and Trek to Manaro. A full day’s Grand Manaro Trek. Around 4 to 5 hours to trek through Manaro Forest Reserve. Local Tour Guides and porters will assist guests along the trekking route. 1-night camping at the Manaro lakes. A tent will be provided however you can also bring your own tent. The local tour guide will also provide some food, boil some tea and cook local food for your stay in Manaro. Guests must be physically and mentally fit.
Day 5: Morning walk around Manaro. Feel the atmosphere of the Manaro sacred land. Explore the beauty of the Ambae people’s paradise. It is believed that is the final resting place for the people of Ambae after death. Morning exploration of the natural beauty. Depart Manaro around 1000hrs to Ambanga. Vehicle pick up in Ambanga for East Ambae. Check In at Lemus Guesthouse. Handicrafts and souvenirs on site
Day 6: Check Out from Lemus Guesthouse to Airport for departure. Departure time around 1015hrs. Souvenirs and handicrafts will also be available at the guesthouse for guests wishing to buy souvenirs from the Island.
